Rather quiet.

eris-dempsey:

Well. I’m well. Awfully lonely but it’s for the better. And you, Jeffery?

And what do you like so much about being lonely exactly? I’m just finishing up a book of mine.

Studying with Jeffery

april-partygirl-nelson:

April looked up as Jeff walked over with an almost inaudible greeting. “Hey.” She said with a small smile, grabbing a notebook and her textbooks out of her bag. She had to dig around a little to find a pencil. “Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for doing this. My parents have been on my case lately and I have to get my grades up before they kill me.” Just because she didn’t want to be there didn’t mean she she wasn’t going to be nice.

Gosh, what was it about this kid? She couldn’t tell what it was but something just set her stomach a flutter. She pulled a pack of gum from her purse and offered him a piece. “Would you like a piece?” She asked, holding one out to him.

The only thing Jeffery could manage to do was nod his head as he tried his best to avoid eye contact with April. Obviously this wasn’t going to be very easy for him. Jeff opened his mouth as if to say something but knowing himself too well, it would only lead to continuous rambling and word vomit. It was certain that Jeff was known to be the quiet and reserved type, but with his heart pace going at an abnormal beat and his palms getting clammy, a lot can be said different when he was nervous. Jeff organized his school supplies on one side with his books and papers on another as he stopped trying to impress April all together.

“No thanks,” Jeff answered, giving a slight smile. “What are we working on today?” He asked as he folded his hands atop the table and his gaze drifting to anywhere but the girl next to him. It seemed that even with only an arms length away from each other, the distance might as well be 500 miles away. At least April was nice enough to be somewhat welcoming unlike Jeff himself. Maybe it was the reputation that April had set for herself but there was something about her that kept him anxious. On the other hand, maybe April may prove him wrong.

Rather quiet.

eris-dempsey:

I guess. Then again, I am the worst, so breaking the silence shouldn’t be too unforeseeable.

You’re an odd girl, Eris. That’s coming from someone who’s watched 3 seasons of Battlestar Galactica in 2 days. But how are you?

Studying with Jeffery

april-partygirl-nelson:

April sighed, looking herself over in the mirror. She was in a pair of skinny jeans and an old ripped band-t that she had. She was off to the library to meet Jeff, since her parents had set it up with the principal that she get a tutor. She had let her partying get out of hand and let her grades drop too much. She didn’t care though. As soon as her parents were satisfied she would just go back to her partying. She felt like she really didn’t have any other options anymore.

With another sigh she grabbed her bag and left the house, saying goodbye to her parents for the few hours she was allowed her freedom. She headed off to the library, where once there, she picked a table to sit at and what.

‘Well,’ she thought as she waited. ‘At least it’s Jeff.’ She instantly scolded herself for thinking that, but it was true. She didn’t want to be there, but since she had to be at least it was with someone she at least could like. And it gave her an excuse to interact with him, where as if she wasn’t being forced into it, she wouldn’t talk to him at all because they were just too different.

“Are you sure?” Jeff scribbled down his notes, not bothering to face the principal as he asked. Yes, to anybody else Jeff would have been more than welcome to help a fellow student but this time it was April Nelson. Jeff could have recited every element on the periodic table but when put in the same room with the only girl who left him dumbfounded speechless, well, what good would Jeff do as a tutor? Before Jeff had the time to even reason with him, he was left alone as the principal walked out. Regardless, Jeff wouldn’t have refused anyways. Maybe it was the fact that he could have never went against the norms but Jeff felt obligated to listen to the higher authority, even if it meant that he didn’t like it.

Jeff cleaned up the lab where the science club had met and continued on though the empty hallways of the school as he straightened down his clothes. Then again, what good would it be to even try and impress April? Walking down to the library, Jeff reminded himself that she was only just a girl.

Opening the door, he immediately saw April waiting and stood, frozen. Regretting that he hadn’t turned back when he had the chance, Jeff took a shaky breath as he walked over to their table. “Hi,” he said, almost inaudible. Jeff bowed his head in embarrassment and fumbled as he took his books from his bag.

eris-dempsey:

I don’t know. I think the things that break silence are worse.

Isn’t breaking the silence exactly what you’re doing right now?

emmavarisco:

My thoughts exactly. I have a difficult time believing it myself, but what can I do? She is my sister after all. Are you referring to the Student Council page? My hope is to get more students involved in our activities and in the club. And by students, I do mean you.

And what is it like having her as a sister? Must be a handful. I am very much involved already. What else do you want from me?

eris-dempsey:

I don’t usually like the quiet.

And why is that?

Rather quiet.

emmavarisco:

Waiting for Josie to wake up from her nap so I can help her with her homework. I’m also working on the Student Council page! Hopefully I’ll be able to finish it by the end of the night.

I never would have guessed you two were related. It’s interesting. And what exactly are you hoping to accomplish with it?

emmavarisco:

Perfectly adequate. And yourself?

I suppose I’m fine. Just finishing a few assignments then reading the rest of my novel. What are you up to?
